Land Use Education and Training
Collaborating with a wide range of public and non-profit agencies,
the Division works to meet the education and training needs of
municipal land use officials including staff and volunteer members
of Planning Commissions, Zoning Boards and Development Review
Boards.

Planning Information Center (VPIC)
A website for members of local planning
commissions, zoning boards and development review boards:
VPIC was developed by DHCA along with partners from the Land Use
Education and Training Collaborative. This website is designed
to provide a clearinghouse of information for local land use officials.

Municipal Education
Grant (MEG) Program
Small grants of up to $800 are available for training volunteer
boards and commissions. Application may be submitted any time
until May 15, 2007.
Local planning and land use regulation is governed by state statute
- 24. V.S.A. Chapter 117. A wealth of resources and tools for
planning and development review are available on the Chapter
117 page. This page provides municipalities with handbooks,
manuals, templates, check sheets and other tools that explain
the statute and help municipalities comply with the requirements.
