Interstate
Interchange Planning
The
DHCA Planning Division is available to work in partnership with
other state agencies, regional planning commissions and communities
along the Interstate to guide interchange area growth in a way
consistent with local, regional, and state land use goals.
DHCA has produced GIS maps and land use inventories for each of
Vermont's 52 Interstate Interchanges.
The following State
agencies have technical and financial assistance
programs that could be applied to planning and implementation
projects at interstate interchange areas: State

- In 2001 the DHCA Planning
Division was awarded a three-year Sustainable Development Challenge
Grant from the EPA to undertake planning along the Interstate.

wastewater treatment options for Exit 17 conducted for the
Colchester Planning Commission.
- Richmond: A study of The

Corridors: Lessons from Vermont & Beyond conducted for
the Town of Richmond.
- Randolph: A three-dimensional
land-use plan for future development around Exit 4,
using "Commity-viz" technology.

(NRI) for four interchanges have been conducted.
